Porpoise Bay Provincial Park

The 61-hectare park also serves as an excellent base for paddlers who wish to explore the many coves and numerous broad, sandy beaches of the Sechelt, Salmon and Narrows Inlets, including the Sechelt Inlets Marine Provincial Recreation Area. Picnic tables dot the beach, which is sheltered by wistful willows.

Easy walking trails provide access to Angus Creek, a spawning waterway for chum and coho salmon. Each fall, salmon return to spawn in the stream where they were hatched four years previously. The creek leads to the mudflats of the estuary where a variety of waterfowl and shorebirds can be observed. Harbour seals and bald eagles may be seen year-round.

A forest of Douglas fir, western red cedar, western hemlock and alder surrounds this beautiful park. There are 84 large vehicle/tent campsites, including 8 double units. All amenities are provided and include an adventure playground, a picnic area, showers, flush and pit toilets, a sani-station and access for the disabled. Campsite reservations are accepted. Open all year, fees are collected from April to October.

A cyclist only camping area with showers and a pit toilet accommodates up to 40 people in 6 bike-in sites, for those cycle-touring the region. Kayakers can use the cyclist campsite - there are rentals available outside the park in Tuwanek.
